**Detroit Lions Release Mixed Injury Report Ahead of Week 12 Matchup with Colts**
As the Detroit Lions (9-1) gear up to face the Indianapolis Colts (5-6) in their Week 12 showdown, the team has announced its latest injury designations, presenting both challenges and potential boosts to their lineup. Notably, the Lions' secondary is dealing with new injuries but might also see reinforcements.
Cornerback Ennis Rakestraw was a surprising absentee during the media-open portion of Friday’s practice, having suffered a hamstring injury. This unforeseen issue will sideline Rakestraw for the game against the Colts. In response, the Lions will rely on Kindle Vildor and Khalil Dorsey to fill the backup cornerback roles.
On a more positive note, there is optimism surrounding CB Emmanuel Moseley, who remains on injured reserve but is trending in the right direction. "Yeah he should be good," Lions coach Dan Campbell said of Moseley. There's a possibility Moseley could be activated for Sunday's game, offering a significant upgrade to an already strong secondary.
The return of tight end Sam LaPorta also seems imminent. After missing Week 11, LaPorta has reportedly had a strong week of practice and appears ready for game action. Similarly, TE Shane Zylstra, who sustained a neck injury in Week 11, has been practicing fully and is set to play as TE3.
Linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin, however, will be out for at least two more games and is eyeing a Week 14 return. Coach Campbell mentioned the uncertainty surrounding his exact recovery timeline but remains hopeful for his return this season.
Unfortunately, not all the news is encouraging; starting left tackle Bernhard Raimann has been ruled out due to a knee injury, and defensive end Tyquan Lewis is listed as questionable with an elbow issue.
This blend of news presents a complex picture for the Lions as they prepare to travel and take on the Colts in what promises to be a pivotal game. With the possibility of key players returning to action, the Lions are eagerly awaiting Sunday to see how their lineup shapes up.
