**Detroit Lions Coach Dan Campbell Remains Optimistic Following Aidan Hutchinson's Surgery**

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell is standing firm on his unwavering confidence in star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, even after a significant injury. Hutchinson underwent surgery to repair a fractured tibia and fibula, facing a recovery period of four to six months. Despite the long road to recovery, Campbell refuses to consider it a season-ending setback.

"I would never count Hutch out. Ever," Campbell stated. "Probably a long road, but I would never count him out, and I would say if anybody can make it back, it'd be him."

Hutchinson's surgery was performed successfully Sunday night at Baylor White Medical Center in Irving, Texas. The injury occurred during the Lions' 47-9 victory over the Dallas Cowboys when Hutchinson was sacking quarterback Dak Prescott and his left leg made unfortunate contact with teammate Alim McNeill's leg.

Known for his resilience, Hutchinson might find strength in his determination to return this season, Campbell noted. "Just knowing Hutch -- he's got one of those rare minds that can heal the body. He'll find whatever it takes to get back," Campbell said. "It's just sitting right out there, 'I can do this, I can get back.' And I do, I think it's huge."

Despite the significant blow to the team, Campbell remains confident in his roster's depth and abilities. He commends defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn's capability to maximize output from players such as McNeill, Josh Paschal, Levi Onwuzurike, DJ Reader, and Isaac Ukwu.

McNeill, having witnessed the injury up close, expressed his support for Hutchinson. "That's a huge piece that went down so we're just going to have to step up and make plays to make up for it," McNeill said post-game.

General manager Brad Holmes might also seek external reinforcements, although Campbell emphasized they are not in a rush due to his faith in the existing defensive line.

"We're going to coach the hell out of the guys we have," Campbell said. "And if we get somebody, great, and if we don't, these are our guys. It's next man up."

Support for Hutchinson continues to pour in from teammates, including rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold, who expressed his solidarity on social media. "The rest of this season is for you bro we got you... Heal up fast #97," Arnold wrote.

The injury has undeniably impacted the locker room, but players like Onwuzurike find motivation in playing for their sidelined teammate. "It's tough, but what are you going to do?" Onwuzurike commented. "Your boy just went out and now you've got to play for him."

Hutchinson was among the frontrunners for the Defensive Player of the Year Award, leading the NFL in sacks, pressures, and pass rush win rate entering Week 6.

Campbell remains unshaken, reiterating that the team’s goal to win the Super Bowl is still very much alive. "Everything's on the table, but we're not panicked," Campbell said. "It's next man up, and if we have an area where we need some help, then we may have to play a little bit differently, and that's OK."
