After losing the primary election, Porter took a swipe at fellow Democrat Adam Schiff and accused his campaign of spending millions of dollars to spread falsehoods, ultimately boosting the Republican candidate, Steve Garvey, on Super Tuesday.

During her concession speech on Tuesday night, Porter highlighted the significant financial advantage her opponents had, stating, "We're standing three to one in TV spending and an onslaught of billionaires who spent millions peddling lies." She further pointed out that her opponent seemed to be investing more in aiding the Republican candidate rather than promoting his own campaign.

Although the final results were still being tallied at the time of her speech, Porter acknowledged that she would come up short in the election. She attributed her defeat to her opponents' utilization of various tactics, millions of dollars, and every trick in the playbook. However, she expressed resilience, declaring, "But I'm still standing in high heels," and credited her supporters for pushing against the establishment.

Porter, a progressive Democrat representing Orange County since 2019, gained popularity through viral moments where she questioned CEOs of major pharmaceutical companies during congressional hearings. She emphasized her rejection of corporate PAC money and her defiance of big corporate campaign backing. However, it was revealed that Porter herself received substantial donations from big donors, including Wall Street contributors.

According to federal campaign finance disclosures, Porter received significant contributions from various sources. Notably, she accepted just over $50,000 in PAC donations and received funds from tech giants Apple and Google amounting to more than $32,000. Additionally, she received support from universities, including over $58,000 collectively from the University of California San Francisco and Irvine. Porter also received donations from healthcare provider Kaiser Permanente and accumulated over $600,000 from lawyers and law firms.

In terms of campaign fundraising, Porter raised just under $28 million for her Senate campaign. Although she fell slightly behind Schiff, who raised $31 million, Porter significantly outperformed other contenders. Democrat Barbara Lee collected $4 million, while Republican Steve Garvey raised just over $2 million.

California's primary system necessitates that the top two candidates from the primary election face off in the general election in November. As a result, Schiff and Garvey will compete for the Senate seat. Schiff, a congressman since 2001, highlighted Garvey's support for Trump in his campaign ads, attempting to position him as a staunch ally of the former president in an effort to consolidate Democratic support and secure victory in the general election.

The open Senate seat was previously held for more than three decades by former Senator Dianne Feinstein, who passed away last year. Governor Gavin Newsom appointed Democrat Senator Laphonza Butler to temporarily fill the vacancy until the upcoming election.

While Schiff is expected to be the frontrunner in the fall election, Garvey, in his victory speech on Tuesday, dismissed doubts about his chances, stating, "They say in the general election we're going to strike out. That's from the crowd that believes in the status quo." Despite protests interrupting Schiff's victory speech, he emphasized the importance of democracy and the right to protest.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the campaigns of Schiff, Lee, Porter, and Garvey for comment on the election results and Porter's claims about campaign spending and special interest influence.
