### Lions Excel in Rushing and Defensive Efficiency

The Detroit Lions continue to impress with their offensive and defensive prowess this season. Ranking fourth in the NFL for average rushing yards per game, the Lions stand out with a reliable ground attack, behind Baltimore, Green Bay, and San Francisco. Consistency has been the hallmark of their rushing game, with the team averaging four or more yards per run on 50.3 percent of their attempts, also the fourth-best in the league. Their ability to break bigger plays is evident in their 24 runs of 10-plus yards, placing them in the Top 10.

Defensively, the Lions are making it increasingly difficult for opponents to score, particularly in the passing game as they get closer to the end zone. When opponents line up inside the 30-yard line, their passing efficiency plummets. They have only completed 18 out of 39 attempts, scoring three touchdowns but also throwing four interceptions, resulting in a passer rating of just 41.6—the lowest in the NFL. This defensive rigidity contributes to Detroit ranking in the Top 10 for red-zone efficiency, with opponents scoring touchdowns less than half the time (46.7 percent).

Ball security has been another strong point for the Lions. In five games, they have only given the ball away four times, all of which are interceptions thrown by quarterback Jared Goff. Impressively, they have not lost a single fumble, tying them with Pittsburgh for fourth fewest giveaways in the league. Only Washington, the Los Angeles Chargers, and Buffalo have fewer.

Moreover, Detroit boasts a turnover differential of plus-six, among the best in the NFL, trailing only four other teams. This advantageous turnover margin further highlights their disciplined and effective gameplay on both sides of the ball. The Lions have cemented their position as a formidable team this season through a combination of strategic offense and tenacious defense.
