**Daniel Jones Falls to Fourth on Giants' Depth Chart**
Daniel Jones, once a promising starter for the New York Giants, has seen a dramatic decline in his standing within the team. Following his recent benching and the arrival of Tim Boyle to the practice squad, Jones has now dropped to the fourth spot on the depth chart.
According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the quarterback found himself participating as the fourth quarterback during individual drills during Wednesday’s practice, which marked his first session post-benching. This demotion comes as part of the Giants' strategy to mitigate any potential injury risks that could extend into 2025, thus avoiding the obligation of a $23 million guaranteed compensation for injury.
Despite the sharp drop in his role, the Giants cannot fully deactivate Jones due to NFL regulations. However, they have the discretion to limit his involvement in team drills and are not required to activate him for game days.
