Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo has expressed his acceptance of the realistic possibility that he may not continue racing in Formula 1 after the Singapore Grand Prix. Following Red Bull's decision to maintain Sergio Perez in their driver line-up, Ricciardo has come to terms with potentially losing his seat at Red Bull Racing, with young talent Liam Lawson waiting in the wings for a potential race seat. While Yuki Tsunoda's spot for 2025 has been confirmed, Ricciardo was anticipating a decision on his future after the Singapore race, but sources hint that he could be replaced before the upcoming U.S. Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas.

Ricciardo acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding his future in Formula 1, stating, "Obviously there is a realistic chance [racing in Austin] is not going to happen." The seasoned driver emphasized the fluctuating nature of decisions in the sport and mentioned that he has mentally prepared himself for a potential departure from the grid. Reflecting on his goals for the season and his desire to compete for wins with Red Bull, Ricciardo recognized that he may need to reassess his motivations if he is unable to secure a competitive drive.

In what could potentially be Ricciardo's final Formula 1 race, he signed off impressively by setting the fastest lap after fitting soft tires and charging through the field to gain an extra point. This strategic move impacted the championship battle, as it increased Max Verstappen's title lead by one point. Ricciardo mentioned that he understood the significance of his performance and speculated on how it might influence the decision-making process regarding his future in the sport.
