In a surprising turn of events, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been participating in 7-on-7 work during the team's OTAs, just six months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL. Not only is he actively involved in drills, but he's doing so without a brace and without any restrictions on his movement.

Jones expressed satisfaction with his progress, stating, "I would say about where I hoped to be. I think we've done a good job kind of adjusting the schedule based on what I'm able to do, and every week I'm able to do a little bit more, so the schedule can change or progress as I'm progressing. I feel good and I think I'm in a good spot."

During Thursday's OTA session, Jones took part in 7-on-7 drills, as the media was granted access. Despite the rain forcing the practice indoors, Jones later headed outdoors to engage in 11-on-11 work, confidently throwing passes to a receiver.

When asked about his readiness for the upcoming 2024 regular season, Jones replied, "I don't have any doubt. I think our trainers and coaches have built a rehab program that kind of takes a step every week. You make progress, do a little bit more, kind of a gradual process, and I think because it's built that way, I've been able to feel good about every next step that we've had."

Head coach Brian Daboll also expressed his satisfaction with Jones' progress, acknowledging that the quarterback looks good and is steadily making strides. Daboll mentioned that they are gradually increasing Jones' involvement, taking it day by day.

Jones shared his thoughts on the Giants' pre-draft speculation regarding quarterbacks, including the team's potential interest in drafting Drake Maye and the signing of Drew Lock. He emphasized that he remains focused on his own development and performance, stating, "I'm focused on what I need to do... I'm always motivated. I consider myself a really driven guy, and I'm always going to work as hard as I possibly can."

Addressing the reports and rumors, Jones confidently asserted, "I think I've always kind of had that kind of mindset. I don't think that changes how I work, how I go about my job, how I see my job, and how I'm going to approach every day. So that's not changing regardless of the situation."

The Giants' official website shared images of Jones and new receiver Malik Nabers during OTAs, highlighting their growing rapport on and off the field. Jones praised Nabers' passion for the game and his exceptional skills, expressing excitement about working together.

As the Giants gear up for the 2024 season, all eyes will be on Daniel Jones, who continues to make significant strides in his recovery. With his unwavering determination and confident outlook, Jones aims to prove himself as the team's starting quarterback and lead the Giants to success on the field.
