Digital-asset investment products have experienced a significant uptick, with inflows of $598 million recorded last week, marking the fourth consecutive week of growth. The total year-to-date inflows have surpassed $5.7 billion, predominantly fueled by the introduction of new U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Noteworthy asset managers like Ark Invest, Bitwise, BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, ProShares, and 21Shares have all seen an influx of investments.
The data presented by CoinShares has shown that the industry's total assets under management reached $68.3 billion, with a focus on the U.S. and spot Bitcoin ETFs. Despite a minor downturn in Bitcoin's price, funds based on the cryptocurrency witnessed inflows of $570 million, driven primarily by the success of the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs with over $5.5 billion in net flows since their launch on Jan. 11. Additionally, there have been minor inflows towards short-Bitcoin positions amounting to $3.9 million.
Other digital assets have also seen movements in investments, with Ether products attracting $17 million in inflows, while Chainlink and XRP-based funds received $1.8 million and $1.1 million, respectively. However, SOL investment products encountered outflows for the second consecutive week, totaling $3 million, partially attributed to the network's recent downtime and a subsequent price decrease in Solana.
On the equities front, blockchain companies observed outflows of $81 million for the week, indicating some caution among equity investors. The GM 30 Index, representing a selection of the top 30 cryptocurrencies, traded relatively flat over the past week, down approximately 0.5%.
Despite market fluctuations, the crypto investment landscape continues to attract substantial capital inflows, especially towards Bitcoin-related products and the ongoing introduction of innovative investment vehicles like ETFs. The industry's resilience and appeal to investors are showcased by the steady increase in inflows and overall asset management figures.
