A court-appointed caregiver, Sabrina Morrissey, has reportedly filed a lawsuit seeking injunctive relief against A+E Networks, the parent company of Lifetime, and Entertainment One Reality Productions. The lawsuit, filed in New York Supreme Court, aims to halt the distribution of the upcoming four-and-a-half-hour documentary titled "Where is Wendy Williams?" set to air over two nights this weekend. The documentary chronicles the former talk show host's declining health and mental state, as she battles primary progressive aphasia, frontotemporal dementia, Graves' disease, lymphedema, and alcohol addiction.
Initially conceived as a glimpse behind the scenes of Williams' career relaunch through a new podcast, the documentary's focus shifted to her struggles with addiction and autoimmune disorders due to her deteriorating physical and mental condition. Williams, who is also an executive producer on the documentary, is under the care of Morrissey and remains secluded from public access.
Despite A+E Networks filing an appeal and the documents in the case being temporarily sealed, a court date has been set for next week to address the lawsuit. The film, filmed between August 2022 and April, offers a raw look at Williams' challenges, including a poignant moment where she reveals her real hair and the effects of lymphedema to her friend Angela "Blac Chyna" White. As the legal battle unfolds, the fate of the documentary's release hangs in the balance.
