**UEFA Nations League Match Abandoned Amid Controversy in Bucharest**

A UEFA Nations League game between Romania and Kosovo was halted in injury time with both sides level at 0-0. The match, which took place in Bucharest on Friday, descended into chaos as players from both teams clashed, prompting Kosovo's players to exit the pitch. UEFA has yet to provide an official reason for the suspension but sources suggest that discontent arose from pro-Serbian chants directed at Kosovo.

In a terse note posted on its website, UEFA declared the game "abandoned" and promised to release more details later. The tensions surrounding matches featuring Kosovo, Albania, and Serbia have become notorious in recent years. The Kosovan Football Federation (FFK) expressed frustration, stating they had informed UEFA multiple times that tensions could disrupt the match.

"Chants such as 'Kosovo is Serbia' and 'Serbia, Serbia,' as well as whistling during Kosovo's national anthem and the throwing of hard objects, created an unsafe atmosphere for our players," said the FFK in an official statement. "Despite warnings issued both a few days and mere minutes before the match, the hostile behavior from Romanian fans persisted, leaving our players feeling neither safe nor respected."

The FFK reported the disturbances to the match delegate immediately and is compiling a formal complaint to submit to UEFA's disciplinary committees. The Romanian Football Federation (FRF), however, refuted the allegations on Saturday, criticizing the conduct of the Kosovo delegation and players, and calling their claims unfounded.

"There were no racist chants during the match, nor was the slogan 'Kosovo is Serbia' chanted even once," the FRF asserted. "Additionally, a previous ruling by UEFA's Disciplinary Committee concerning a similar incident last year stated that the phrase 'Kosovo is Serbia' is not classified as racist and does not activate the three-step procedure."

The investigation continues as UEFA seeks to determine what transpired in Bucharest and how to address the mounting tensions in matches involving teams from the Balkans.
