### Disputed Field Goal Call Haunts Bears in Close Loss to Packers

Chicago's challenging season took another downturn as they faced their fourth consecutive loss on Sunday, falling to the Green Bay Packers by a narrow margin of 20-19. The game's deciding moment came as the final seconds ticked away, when Bears kicker Cairo Santos saw his 46-yard field goal attempt blocked by the Packers' defensive line.

Head coach Matt Eberflus expressed his discontent post-game, especially concerning the controversial nature of the blocked kick. Eberflus highlighted the play’s potential violation of league rules and announced that the Bears plan to submit the footage for review by the NFL. "According to the rules, the center must remain uncovered during a field goal attempt," Eberflus stated. "Our long snapper was engaged by Packers defenders, which should not be permissible."

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero confirmed that the Bears are seeking a review based on these grounds. According to league regulations, a defensive player cannot utilize another player to gain leverage in an attempt to block a kick, and Eberflus believes that's precisely what happened.

Another layer of controversy stemmed from the Bears' strategic choices in the final moments of the game. Despite having a timeout and 35 seconds remaining, Chicago chose to proceed with the field goal attempt rather than move the ball closer. Eberflus defended this decision, citing concerns about turnover risks and the confidence he had in Santos’ ability at that range. "They were stacking the box, and moving for a few more yards could have risked a fumble. We were confident in our position and the conditions."

The Bears, who started the season promisingly with a 4-2 record, now find themselves struggling at 4-6 as they head into Week 12. Sunday's controversial ending adds another chapter to what has become a challenging season for Eberflus and his team.
