In a bold act of defiance against celebrity pushback, college student Jack Sweeney is standing his ground after receiving legal threats for tracking private jet journeys of the rich and famous. Taylor Swift's attorney, Katie Wright Morrone, had sent Sweeney a cease and desist letter at the end of December, accusing him of stalking and harassing behavior for sharing real-time location details of Swift's travel online.
Sweeney recently revealed on X that he fired back with a dismissive response to Morrone's demands, asserting that there is no legality issue in using publicly accessible information to monitor private jets, even those belonging to public figures like Taylor Swift. His attorney, James Slater, emphasized that the information on Sweeney's website does not pose any safety threat to Swift.
This is not the first time Sweeney has faced legal challenges for his activities, as billionaire Elon Musk had also threatened him with legal action in 2022 for tracking his movements. Musk had banned Sweeney's @ElonJet account from X, citing a violation of the platform's doxxing policy.
In light of these legal threats, Sweeney's defiant response and staunch defense of his tracking practices highlight the ongoing battle between privacy concerns of celebrities and the public's fascination with the luxurious lifestyles of the elite.
