Cole Palmer, the talented attacking midfielder from Manchester City, has extended his stay at Chelsea by signing a two-year contract extension. The young star, who joined the Blues last summer for an initial fee of £40 million with potential add-ons, will now be committed to the club until June 2033.

The new deal is a testament to Palmer's remarkable performance during his debut season at Stamford Bridge. He made a significant impact with his impressive tally of 25 goals and 15 assists in just 45 appearances across all competitions. His exceptional form caught the attention of the England national team, earning him a call-up for the European Championship.

Despite being an unused substitute for the first two matches, Palmer showcased his potential by featuring in all five subsequent games. His standout moment came in the final against Spain, where he scored the equalizing goal for England, demonstrating his readiness for the international stage.

After his impressive performance at Euro 2024, Palmer took a well-deserved holiday before returning to Chelsea last week. He made his first appearance of the pre-season as a second-half substitute in the friendly draw against Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge.

Under the guidance of manager Enzo Maresca, Chelsea is gearing up for an exciting Premier League campaign. The Blues will kick off their season against Manchester City at home on Sunday. Following this, they will face either Servette or Braga in the Conference League play-off four.

In addition to Palmer's extension, Chelsea has had an active summer transfer window. The club has strengthened its squad with the signings of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham, Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa, Marc Guiu from Barcelona, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City, Renato Veiga from Basel, Caleb Wiley from Atlanta United, and Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors.

However, it appears that the potential acquisition of Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion has hit a snag. Despite agreeing to a €40 million deal, the completion of his contract seems to be facing significant challenges, casting doubt over the completion of the transfer.

With Cole Palmer committing his future to Chelsea, the club looks forward to building on its recent successes and continuing to challenge for major trophies in the upcoming seasons.
