**"Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" Dominates Chinese Box Office**

Paramount’s latest entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise, "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning," surged to the top of China's box office over the weekend of May 30 to June 1. The film brought in an impressive RMB184.5 million, equivalent to $25.6 million, according to Artisan Gateway. The movie’s high-octane action sequences and breathtaking Imax screenings played a significant role in its robust performance, with Imax alone contributing $4.9 million to the total China box office earnings. This opening marks the largest Imax debut for a Hollywood film in China for 2025. Imax CEO Rich Gelfond remarked, "We were particularly encouraged by the great Imax results in China, which bodes well for the many Hollywood tentpoles set for release there in the weeks ahead."

Taking second place was the Chinese animated fantasy "Endless Journey of Love," produced by Maoyan Movie. The film garnered $7.6 million. Directed by Zhou Tienan and Yu Ao, this engaging story is set in the 1930s and follows the journey of Qian Xiao, a village girl who gains the extraordinary ability to control time, making her a prime target for powerful adversaries. The voice cast features Karry Wang, Liu Xiaoyu, and Zhou Shen.

The beloved Japanese franchise "Doraemon: Nobita's Art World Tales," secured the third spot with $7.5 million in its opening weekend. Directed by Teramoto Yukiyo, the film takes Doraemon and his friends into the fascinating world of paintings for a memorable adventure. The voice cast includes Wasabi Mizuta, Megumi Ōhara, and Yumi Kakazu.

Disney's live-action adaptation of "Lilo & Stitch" experienced a slip, falling to fourth place in its second weekend with earnings of $6.6 million, bringing its total revenue to $17.8 million.

Rounding out the top five was the Hong Kong action thriller "Behind the Shadows," which debuted with $4.3 million. Directed by Jonathan Li and Choy Man-yu, the film stars Louis Koo as a private detective navigating a complex case involving adultery and murder. Liu Kuan-ting and Chrissie Chau also star in this gripping thriller.

The total weekend box office revenue reached $58.2 million, showcasing a significant rebound from previous weeks. China's year-to-date box office now stands at an impressive $3.82 billion, reflecting a 26.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
