Chicago Bears Conclude Preseason Undefeated with Convincing Victory over Kansas City Chiefs
In a preseason matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Chicago Bears displayed their dominance and wrapped up their four-game preseason campaign with an unblemished record. Although preseason records hold little significance, the performance and execution demonstrated by the Bears' 90-player roster have undoubtedly presented the coaching staff with some arduous decisions.
The Bears' victory was characterized by their superiority in several key statistical categories. They outgained the Chiefs with 390 total yards compared to Kansas City's 271 yards. Additionally, Chicago secured more first downs, recording 18 to the Chiefs' 15. Most notably, the Bears showcased their efficiency on third downs, converting 38.5% of their attempts (5-13) while limiting the Chiefs to a mere 12.5% success rate (1-8). On fourth down attempts, the Bears converted one out of two tries, while the Chiefs failed to convert on both of their attempts.
Not only did the Bears succeed in their offensive efforts, but they also demonstrated discipline on the field, accumulating fewer penalties than their opponents. Chicago was penalized six times for a total of 38 yards, whereas the Chiefs faced eight penalties amounting to 86 yards.

Notable performances by individual Bears players included quarterback Tyson Bagent, who completed three out of six passes for 57 yards and added a touchdown run of five yards. Tyler Scott proved his versatility with a 17-yard rushing play, six receptions totaling 99 yards, and 49 yards on two kick returns. Running back Travis Homer carried the ball four times for 13 yards, while Nsimba Webster contributed 68 receiving yards on three receptions before exiting the game due to an injury. Fullback Khari Blasingame had a four-yard rushing touchdown.
Bears quarterbacks Brett Rypien and Austin Reed also displayed their skills on the field. Rypien completed nine of 13 passes for 106 yards, earning a passer rating of 93.8. Reed connected on eight of his ten passes for 63 yards and threw a touchdown pass, finishing with an impressive passer rating of 126.2.
On the defensive side, Austin Booker, Jonathan Owens, Tarvarius Moore, Micah Baskerville, Daniel Hardy, Dashaun Mallory, Reddy Steward, and Greg Stroman Jr. all made significant contributions. Booker recorded a tackle and a quarterback hit, while Owens registered six tackles on defense and an additional two on special teams. Moore showcased his defensive prowess with six tackles, including a tackle for loss. Baskerville tallied five tackles and defended a pass. Hardy made four tackles, including one tackle for loss.
Undrafted free agent Dashaun Mallory proved impactful, notching two tackles, a sack, and a tackle for loss. Another undrafted cornerback, Reddy Steward, stood out with two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, along with two tackles. Greg Stroman Jr. also impressed with two tackles and one tackle for loss.
Special teams performers were also integral to the Bears' success. Kicker Cairo Santos converted all four extra-point attempts and successfully made both field goals attempted during the game. Punter Corliss Waitman averaged 44.3 yards on his three punts, with one landing inside the twenty-yard line. Linebacker Javin White showcased his tackling prowess on special teams, recording two tackles.
