In a heartwarming gesture of support, the Chicago Bears have granted safety Jonathan Owens time off from their training camp to allow him to watch his wife, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, compete at the Paris Olympics. This will mark the first time that Owens will be able to witness Biles' incredible skills live on the international stage.

The timing couldn't have been more perfect, as the Olympics coincide with the Bears' training camp, set to begin on July 19. Biles, who officially qualified for the United States Olympic women's gymnastics team on Sunday, will be participating in the qualifying rounds on July 28, culminating in the women's all-around final on August 1.

Remarkably, the Bears' schedule also includes a game on August 1, as they are set to face the Houston Texans in the Hall of Fame Game. Despite this overlap, the Bears have graciously allowed Owens to take a few days off so that he can travel to Paris and support his incredible wife.

Biles expressed her gratitude towards the Bears, stating, "The Bears are actually granting him a couple days off from training camp, so he'll be there, yes." She further emphasized the importance of their support, especially since their schedules rarely align. "Anytime we can show up for one another in support, we just get super excited because our schedules don't align that much. So whenever it does, it's really important for the both of us to show up in support," Biles added.

This opportunity holds special significance for Owens, as he was unable to accompany Biles to the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions. Biles, dealing with mental health issues, had to withdraw from the Games, which prevented them from experiencing the competition together.

The couple, who tied the knot last year, has consistently shown their dedication to supporting one another. Biles was frequently seen cheering for Owens during his time with the Green Bay Packers in 2021, highlighting their unwavering support both on and off the field.

As Biles prepares to once again dazzle the world with her incredible gymnastic abilities, Owens will be there, cheering her on from the stands in Paris, thanks to the Bears' thoughtful decision to grant him time off. It is a touching reminder that even amidst busy schedules and demanding careers, love and support can always find a way to shine through.
