### Bomb Threats Disrupt Flights from India, Forcing Emergency Landing and Military Assistance

Chaos ensued in the aviation sector as nearly a dozen bomb threats targeted flights departing from India within a 48-hour period, culminating in emergency measures and widespread alarm. Among the disrupted flights, an Air India flight traveling from Delhi to Chicago had to make an unexpected landing in Iqaluit, a remote city on Baffin Island, Canada, before dawn on Tuesday. The city's limited facilities necessitated the use of military resources to accommodate the stranded passengers, according to reports from the Canadian Press.

This incident followed a tense political atmosphere, with Canada and India expelling senior diplomats amid allegations that Indian government agents were involved in the killing of a Sikh leader on Canadian soil. Given the situation in Iqaluit, Ottawa authorized the deployment of a Canadian Air Force plane to transport the passengers from Iqaluit to Chicago, as reported by the BBC.

The Air India incident was not isolated. Hours later, Singapore deployed two fighter jets to escort an Air India Express flight, also under threat, which landed safely at Singapore Changi Airport. This came shortly after an Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was rerouted to Delhi due to a similar threat.

The wave of threats also targeted other airlines. SpiceJet and Akasa Air received threats, while the low-cost carrier IndiGo reported threats against two flights heading to Saudi Arabia and Oman, as stated by the BBC. Authorities have described these threats as hoaxes, with investigations revealing that some were issued from an X account. A teenager was detained in connection with the threats, and another X account involved was subsequently suspended.

Air India has confirmed its full cooperation with authorities and is considering legal actions to recover damages caused by these threats. The situation remains under close scrutiny as airlines and security agencies strive to ensure passenger safety amid the ongoing disruptions.
