### Paris Celebrations Turn Chaotic After PSG's Historic Champions League Victory

In the wake of Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) monumental win in the Champions League final, celebrations in Paris escalated into chaos, resulting in hundreds of arrests. Following their 5-0 triumph over Inter Milan in Munich, exuberant fans flooded iconic locations like the Champs-Elysees avenue and Parc des Princes stadium, where festivities took a tumultuous turn.

Approximately 300 individuals were apprehended as clashes between fans and police erupted near these prominent spots. Despite the joyful mood, scenes of disorder unfolded with flares and fireworks lighting up the night, bus shelters smashed, and cars set ablaze. The city's authorities had anticipated the fervor, deploying around 5,400 police officers across Paris.

While many supporters reveled peacefully, singing and dancing in the streets with PSG's colors illuminating the Eiffel Tower, others contributed to the unrest. The Paris police stated that most arrests were due to possession of fireworks and public disorder. Videos shared on social media, though not verified by the BBC, seemingly depicted attempts to loot shops on the Champs-Elysées, including renowned outlets like Chanel and Foot Locker, prompting riot police to use water cannons and tear gas.

In other incidents related to the celebrations, at least two cars were torched near Parc des Princes. On the Paris ring road, additional clashes occurred between the crowd and law enforcement officers. The situation attracted the attention of French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, who strongly condemned the disorderly conduct, emphasizing that true supporters were celebrating the victory respectfully.

Outside Paris, a tragic event occurred in Grenoble, where a car drove into a group of PSG fans, injuring four family members, two of them seriously. Although the driver surrendered to the police and was arrested, initial investigations suggested that the act was unintentional.

The victorious PSG team is set to hold a celebratory parade on the Champs-Elysees, with large crowds expected once again. French President Emmanuel Macron, despite being an Olympique de Marseille supporter, congratulated the team and announced plans to welcome the players at his office on Sunday to honor their achievement.
