In an exciting trade deal, the Buffalo Sabres have added forward Ryan McLeod to their roster, acquiring him from the Edmonton Oilers. The Sabres were able to secure an established NHL player who recently enjoyed an impressive playoff run, giving up one of their top prospects in exchange.

As part of the trade, Buffalo received McLeod along with promising minor leaguer Tyler Tullio from the Western Conference champions. In return, the Sabres sent 20-year-old center Matthew Savoie to Edmonton.

McLeod's performance in the playoffs was noteworthy, as he tallied four goals in 24 games during Edmonton's journey to the Stanley Cup Final. Although the Oilers ultimately fell short, losing to the Florida Panthers, McLeod showcased his abilities and proved to be a valuable asset.

The forward is set to earn $2.1 million for the upcoming season. The Sabres wasted no time after finalizing the trade by re-signing defenseman Henri Jokiharju, securing him on a one-year contract worth $3.1 million.

Savoie, who was drafted as the ninth pick in the 2022 draft, made his highly anticipated NHL debut in November. However, the young center has only played one game at the professional level so far, as he split his time last season between junior hockey and the minors.

The acquisition of Ryan McLeod brings added experience and skill to the Buffalo Sabres' lineup. Fans will be eagerly watching to see how he contributes to the team's success in the upcoming season.
