**Buffalo Bills Face Another Wintry Battle with Heavy Snowfall Predicted**
Ten months after a blizzard forced the postponement of their wild-card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Buffalo Bills are bracing for more hazardous winter weather as they prepare to host the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday. A lake-effect storm warning has been issued for the Buffalo area, with forecasts predicting between 2 to 3 feet of snow ahead of the Week 13 matchup.
Preparations are already underway at Highmark Stadium, with snowplows beginning to circle the field on Friday. According to Spectrum News 1, the Bills organization has also called upon volunteer shovelers to help clear away the anticipated snow, mirroring the efforts made before January's weather-impacted postseason game.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has urged caution for those planning to travel to Sunday's game, highlighting the potential risks. "This is going to be concerning for people trying to travel to the football game," Poloncarz said during a news conference. "We do not expect the game to be postponed or anything like that. The game will go on. [We've] had games that are colder... [But] people need to be prepared. It's the first real cold of the season. We haven't had anything like this all year."
The National Weather Service has warned of "whiteout conditions" over the weekend, making travel "treacherous and potentially dangerous." Lake-effect snow can produce vastly different weather patterns just a few miles apart, from heavy snow with little visibility to dry conditions, as noted by The Weather Channel.
Despite the impending storm, the Bills are set to kick off against the 49ers at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday.
