### Bruce Springsteen Refutes Billionaire Status Amidst Financial Success

Despite a recent report by Forbes estimating his worth at $1.1 billion, rock legend Bruce Springsteen says he hasn't hit the billionaire mark. The 75-year-old musician told the Telegraph, "I'm not a billionaire. I wish I was, but they got that real wrong. I've spent too much money on superfluous things."

Springsteen acknowledges that years of struggling before achieving fame led him to savor his success. After selling his music catalog to Sony for $500 million in 2021, Springsteen emphasized that financial gain was never his primary motivator throughout his career. "That's usually where people go south," he remarked, underscoring his focus on safeguarding his talent as a top priority.

Despite dismissing the billionaire label, Springsteen's financial achievements are notable. His 2023 world tour generated $380 million, according to Pollstar. He has also made significant real estate investments, including properties in Wellington, Florida, and Beverly Hills, valued at $15 million, and his primary residence on a 368-acre ranch purchased in 1994. He sold his 6,000 square-foot home in Rumson, New Jersey, for $3.2 million in 2017.

Springsteen is known for generously compensating his E Street Band, whose members he considers integral to his success. "I pay them a tremendous amount of money," he shared at a London screening of his new documentary, "Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band." Springsteen highlighted the importance of casting the right band and maintaining a philosophy of performing each night with unmatched dedication.

Steven Van Zandt, a longtime member of the E Street Band, echoed Springsteen's sentiment, emphasizing that the band's journey has always been about artistic exploration rather than commercial success. The E Street Band achieved blockbuster acclaim in 1984 with the "Born in the USA" album and tour, and their longevity in the industry remains remarkable.

As Springsteen prepares for an upcoming biopic, where he will be portrayed by Jeremy Allen White, he reflects on the rare endurance of his band. “The actual arc of rock 'n' roll bands is to break up," he noted. "Think about it, how many bands have stayed together against how many who broke up?"
