In a joint piece for POLITICO, former British Prime Minister David Cameron and Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski have issued a stark warning to U.S. lawmakers regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The two foreign ministers emphasized the critical importance of standing up to Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, stating that failure to do so "will remake the world as we know it."

They urged Western leaders to provide increased funding to Ukraine for its war effort, highlighting the need for continued support from the U.S. and its allies. The plea comes at a time when Republicans in the U.S. are delaying a fresh funding agreement for Ukraine, and European capitals are considering their options to address the conflict.

Cameron and Sikorski stressed the severity of the situation, referring to the war in Ukraine as "the biggest test of our generation." They called on allies to provide additional funding to Ukraine, scour their stocks for equipment that can be quickly sent, and explore the possibility of using Russian assets seized post-invasion to aid in Ukraine's recovery.

Despite facing some resistance in European capitals, the foreign ministers argued for the moral and economic justification of leveraging seized Russian assets to support Ukraine. They emphasized the need for prompt action and cooperation among allies to address the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, highlighting the broader implications of failing to confront Putin's aggression.

The joint plea from Cameron and Sikorski underscores the urgency of the situation and the necessity for collective action to support Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
