### Boeing Machinists Union Receives New Contract Proposal to End Eight-Week Strike
The leadership of the Boeing Machinists union has received a fresh contract proposal amid a strike that has now stretched into its eighth week. On Thursday afternoon, the union made the announcement and recommended that its members vote to approve the new deal.
The proposed contract includes a 38% general wage increase over the next four years. According to the union's statement, this increase compounds to more than 43% over the duration of the agreement.
"It is time for our Members to lock in these gains and confidently declare victory," the union stated. "We believe asking members to stay on strike longer wouldn't be right as we have achieved so much success."
The union's recommendation emphasizes the substantial gains made in the negotiation process, suggesting that further striking is unnecessary. As members prepare to vote, the outcome of their decision will determine the next steps in resolving the ongoing labor dispute.
