In a sad turn of events, renowned actor John Aprea, best known for his role as young Salvatore "Sal" Tessio in the critically acclaimed film "The Godfather Part II," has passed away at the age of 83. This news was confirmed by his manager, Will Levine, who stated that Aprea peacefully passed away on Monday, August 5 in Los Angeles due to natural causes, surrounded by his loved ones.

Levine expressed his deep sadness over the loss of Aprea, describing him as an incredibly talented actor who was adored by his friends and colleagues. "He was one of the classiest guys I knew," Levine reminiscenced, highlighting the respect and admiration that Aprea garnered throughout his career.

Aprea's portrayal of young Tessio in "The Godfather Part II" became one of his most memorable roles. Interestingly, before taking on the character, Aprea reached out to Abe Vigoda, who played the older version of Tessio in the first part of the saga, seeking valuable insights into the role.

Aside from his involvement with crime sagas, Aprea also showcased his acting prowess in various soap opera dramas. Additionally, he played the role of John Stamos' father on the beloved family sitcom "Full House," further endearing him to audiences of all ages.

Survived by his wife and partner of 25 years, Betsy Graci, as well as his daughter Nicole from a previous marriage, Aprea leaves behind a loving family. He was also a stepfather to Marika Parker and Valentino Graci, his wife's children from her previous relationship.
