Autopsy Preliminary Findings Released for Nex Benedict's Death Investigation

The Medical Examiner's Office has shared preliminary details regarding the autopsy of Nex Benedict, the 16-year-old Owasso student who passed away on February 8. According to the Owasso Police Department, initial findings suggest that Benedict's death was not caused by trauma. Further information on the cause of death is pending toxicology and additional test results. The official autopsy report is expected to be released at a later date as confirmed by Owasso Police.

The police investigation revealed that Benedict was involved in a physical altercation at Owasso High School on February 7. Police plan to conduct interviews with school personnel and students over the next two weeks. Following these inquiries, the investigation will be forwarded to the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office for review.
