According to Bloomberg, Apple is expanding the availability of its Vision Pro headset to markets outside the United States. The latest report by Mark Gurman confirms that the United Kingdom and Canada are among the countries where the headset is scheduled to launch. This aligns with the list of countries previously revealed by MacRumors in March.
Although Apple has not yet announced specific launch dates for these countries, it is anticipated that the rollout will occur after the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is set to take place from June 10 to June 14. In preparation for the multi-region launch, numerous employees from international retail stores have been traveling to Cupertino for extensive Vision Pro training sessions, as reported by Bloomberg.
The interest in the Vision Pro within the United States has reportedly declined since its initial release, prompting Apple to reduce shipments. However, the expansion into international markets is expected to revive enthusiasm for the device. Nevertheless, the steep price tag of $3,500 USD remains a significant barrier for many potential customers. Pricing for other countries is yet to be announced.
While Apple's decision to increase prices for products like the iPad Pro in Australia has garnered criticism, the company maintains that it includes incredible new display technologies in the devices. Apple claims to have worked diligently to keep prices as low as possible by eliminating certain features that were only utilized by a small number of users. The company asserts that it does not engage in price gouging and strives to make its products accessible to as many people as possible.
The unveiling of the Vision Pro in non-US markets at WWDC was already anticipated, so Mark Gurman's recent update may not add new information to the ongoing conversation. However, his confirmation of the countries involved serves to reinforce the previous reports.
In other news, iPhone users have raised concerns about a bug that reportedly resurfaces old deleted photos after updating to iOS 17.5. Users on Reddit claim that pictures deleted years ago have suddenly reappeared in their photo libraries, including explicit content that was originally deleted in 2021. Apple is yet to comment on this issue.
Additionally, some Apple users have experienced difficulties with the iMessage service, reporting that messages either fail to send or experience significant delays. While social networks and outage report platforms have seen a surge in complaints, Apple's official System Status page does not currently indicate an outage.
Looking ahead, Apple has provided a sneak peek at new accessibility features coming with iOS 18 later this year. These features will include improved options for CarPlay, such as voice control for easier navigation and app control, as well as color filters to enhance the user interface.
As Apple continues to innovate and expand its product offerings, today marks the official launch of the highly anticipated new iPad Pro models. With notable design refreshes and new features, these tablets are generating significant buzz among Apple enthusiasts.
Lastly, leaks suggest that Apple's upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a larger display, with a potential increase from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches. A comparison image circulating online shows a dummy model of the iPhone 16 Pro Max alongside the current iPhone 15 Pro Max, providing insight into the potential size difference of Apple's largest-ever iPhone.
It remains to be seen how the launch of the Vision Pro in the UK and Canada will impact Apple's position in the global market, but it is expected to generate renewed interest and demand for the advanced headset.
