In a heartfelt tribute on social media, Hollywood star Chris Pratt expressed his sorrow over the death of his longtime stunt double, Tony McFarr. Known for their collaborations on blockbuster films such as the "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Jurassic World" franchises, McFarr passed away on May 13 at the age of 47.

Pratt took to social media to share memories of their time together, fondly recalling their camaraderie both on and off set. The actor reminisced about their shared activities, including golfing, enjoying whiskey, smoking cigars, and spending countless hours working side by side. Pratt vividly remembered McFarr's dedication and resilience, citing an instance where he endured a head injury while filming the title sequence of "Guardians 2" but bounced back with determination and professionalism.

"He was always a gentleman and professional," Pratt wrote, adding that McFarr's presence will be sorely missed. The actor also expressed his condolences to McFarr's friends and family, with a special mention of his daughter.

McFarr had an impressive career as a stunt performer, appearing in numerous movies and television shows since the early 2010s. He began doubling for Pratt in 2015's "Jurassic World" and continued with "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" in 2017 and "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" in 2018. McFarr also performed stunts for Pratt in the 2016 film "Passengers" alongside Jennifer Lawrence.

His stunt credits extended beyond his collaborations with Pratt, encompassing films like "Captain America: Civil War," "Ant-Man and the Wasp," "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2," "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," and "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," among others.

Tony McFarr's sudden demise occurred at his residence outside Orlando, Florida, according to his mother. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Before his successful career as a stuntman, McFarr started in Hollywood as an actor, landing roles in popular television series such as "Burn Notice," "One Tree Hill," and "Army Wives."

The loss of Tony McFarr is mourned not only by Chris Pratt but by the wider film industry, which recognizes his remarkable contribution as a talented stunt performer.
