**Aaron Rodgers Contemplates 2025 Season Amid Jets' Struggles**

In Florham Park, N.J., NFL veteran Aaron Rodgers, on the cusp of turning 41, hinted at his intention to continue playing for the New York Jets into the 2025 season despite enduring one of the most challenging periods of his career. Rodgers' commitment appears partly influenced by potential organizational changes, acknowledging that such shifts could ultimately impact his decision.

This offseason, Rodgers had previously voiced aspirations of playing "two or three or four more years," and the Jets' disheartening 3-7 record hasn't swayed his resolve. He stated, "Not really, not for the negative," reflecting a steadfast mindset despite the team's struggles. Overcoming multiple injuries from Achilles surgery to hamstring issues, Rodgers has managed to avoid missing any game snaps, though his performance stats reveal a different story. Ranking 24th out of 32 quarterbacks in Total QBR (52.0), Rodgers has 15 touchdown passes, seven interceptions, and a career-low 6.4 yards per attempt.

Under contract for the 2025 season, Rodgers' future with the Jets hinges on whether the team opts to exercise a $35 million option bonus, accompanied by a $2.5 million base salary. His cap charge would be a manageable $23.5 million. Despite the option's uncertainty, Rodgers maintains an optimistic outlook, asserting, "the verdict is still not out on this season yet."

The Jets face off against the Indianapolis Colts, holding a 4-6 record, on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The team has struggled notably since replacing Coach Robert Saleh with Jeff Ulbrich as the interim coach, achieving just one win in five games. Ulbrich, who also serves as the defensive coordinator, has received strong support from Rodgers. The quarterback praised Ulbrich, stating, "I think Brick is an NFL head coach, whether it's here moving forward or down the line."

Despite previous backing for Saleh, which contributed to his retention by ownership after back-to-back 7-10 seasons, Rodgers finds himself in unfamiliar territory with a 3-7 record for the first time in his 20-year career. Ulbrich noted that Rodgers has been "100% supportive of this entire staff and this entire team in getting this thing fixed," while also contributing suggestions for game planning and scheduling tweaks.

To address the team's deficiencies, Ulbrich has re-emphasized fundamental techniques this week, particularly tackling, following a lackluster performance against the Cardinals where the team missed 20 tackles. Benchings, such as safety Tony Adams despite his standing as the third-leading tackler, illustrate Ulbrich's commitment to shaking up the defensive lineup. "We're going to get back to fundamentals and basics," Ulbrich affirmed, a sentiment echoed by Rodgers who sees the struggles as a necessary "wake-up call" for the team.
