**Sixers to Face Bucks Without Embiid and George in Season Opener**

The Philadelphia 76ers will start their season without two of their key players on Wednesday evening. The team announced on Tuesday morning that Joel Embiid and Paul George will be sidelined for the season opener against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Joel Embiid, who suffered a meniscus injury in his left knee last season, will miss at least the first two games. The team emphasized the importance of managing his knee condition carefully as he prepares for the 2024-25 season. According to the Sixers, Embiid is progressing well with his individualized recovery plan and is expected to increase his activity level this week, including participating in scrimmages. He will not be playing any games this week and will be re-evaluated over the weekend.

Paul George, who sustained a bone bruise on his left knee during his second preseason game with the Sixers, was also deemed unlikely to be ready for the season opener. However, it appears that George's absence will be brief, and he is not expected to miss much time as the season progresses.
