In a statement posted on the official DWTS tour Instagram page, Julianne Hough, the renowned performer and sister of Derek Hough, has announced that she will be unable to join the 2024 Dancing With The Stars tour for her scheduled dates due to a change in her production shooting schedule.
Hough, 35, expressed her disappointment at not being able to connect with the fans on the road and perform live alongside the DWTS Tour cast. In a heartfelt Instagram Story message shared on Friday, she emphasized her love for the DWTS community and her devastation at missing the opportunity to meet the fans in person. However, she assured everyone that the cast is delivering an unforgettable show that should not be missed.
The statement did not provide specific details about the conflicting project that forced Hough to cancel her tour appearances. Originally, Hough had planned to appear in the production for a limited number of dates on the new tour.
Fans can still look forward to seeing other familiar faces on the tour. Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy will be joining the cast for the January and February dates, while season 32 winner Xochitl Gomez, along with contestants Charity Lawson and Harry Jowsey, will make appearances for select tour stops.
Hough's return to the long-running dance competition series as a host alongside Alfonso Ribeiro last season was highly anticipated. She replaced model and media personality Tyra Banks in the hosting role.
It is evident that Hough's absence from the tour is a great disappointment, but fans can expect an amazing show with the talented cast that has been assembled.
