Game Recap: Botafogo RJ 0-0 Cuiabá

Botafogo RJ and Cuiabá played out a goalless draw in their Campeonato Brasileiro game at the Nilton Santos (Engenhão) stadium. Despite both teams having their fair share of chances, neither side managed to find the back of the net.

The match started with Derik Lacerda of Cuiabá receiving a yellow card for roughing in the 45th minute. The physicality continued as Denilson Alves also received a yellow card for unsportsmanlike conduct in the 48th minute. Ramon and Bruno Alves of Cuiabá were also booked for tripping and holding respectively in the 51st and 56th minute.

In terms of substitutions, Junior Santos came on for Cuiabá in the 62nd minute, while Cuiabano replaced Alex Telles for Botafogo RJ in the 63rd minute. Lucas Mineiro and Carlos Eduardo were also substitutes for Cuiabá in the 63rd minute. Tiquinho Soares and Jonathan Cafu were substitutes in the 83rd minute for Botafogo RJ and Cuiabá respectively. Lucas Fernandes replaced Denilson Alves for Cuiabá in the 83rd minute. Gabriel came on for Filipe Augusto in the 90th minute and also received a yellow card for delay of game.

Throughout the game, there were several close chances. John made a secure save for Botafogo RJ in the 12th minute after a long-range effort from Derik Lacerda. Almada's corner found Savarino in the 20th minute, but Walter in the Cuiabá goal managed to keep it out. Marlon Freitas hit the post for Botafogo RJ in the 51st minute, while Luiz Henrique's shot was saved by Walter in the 44th minute.

Both teams fought hard, but neither could break the deadlock. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.
