Game Recap: Atletico GO 1-0 Fluminense

Atletico GO secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Fluminense in their Campeonato Brasileiro clash at Antônio Accioly stadium. The only goal of the match came in the 42nd minute of the second half when Janderson found the back of the net.

The first half saw both teams creating opportunities to score. Fluminense's Keno came close to opening the scoring but his header went just wide of the left post. Atletico GO's Baralhas and Flu's Keno had chances to find the back of the net but failed to convert.

In the 23rd minute, Atletico GO thought they had taken the lead when Alix Vinicius found the net after a cross from Baralhas, but the goal was disallowed by the VAR due to an offside. The first half ended goalless.

At the start of the second half, Fluminense made a substitution, bringing on Serna for Keno. Both teams continued to create chances, with Atletico GO's Roni forcing a save from Fluminense's goalkeeper, Fábio. Atletico GO came close to breaking the deadlock when Rhaldney's header hit the crossbar, and Bruno Tubarão missed the rebound.

In the 42nd minute, Atletico GO finally found the breakthrough. Janderson scored the only goal of the match after a VAR review confirmed the validity of his strike. Fluminense tried to find an equalizer but was ultimately unable to break Atletico GO's defense.

In the dying minutes of the game, Fluminense's Cano received a red card for dissent from the bench. The match ended with a 1-0 victory for Atletico GO.

Next up for Atletico GO is an away game against Criciúma, while Fluminense will face Cruzeiro at home in their next Serie A fixture.
