New Zealand U23 suffered a 1-4 defeat against the United States U23 in an Olympic Men's Soccer match held at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille. The game took place on July 27, 2024, with a match attendance of not provided.

The United States U23 dominated the game from the start, taking an early lead in the 10th minute. Djordje Mihailovic converted a penalty with a right-footed shot to put his team ahead 1-0. Just two minutes later, Walker Zimmerman doubled the lead for the United States U23 with a right-footed shot from the center of the box, assisted by Mihailovic.

In the 30th minute, Gianluca Busio extended the lead to 3-0 for the United States U23 with a right-footed shot from the center of the box, assisted by Kevin Paredes. New Zealand U23 tried to make a comeback but struggled to break through the strong defense of the United States U23. They suffered a setback when Busio had to be substituted due to an injury in the 36th minute, with Jack McGlynn taking his place.

The first half ended with Tanner Tessmann of the United States U23 receiving a yellow card for a bad foul in stoppage time.

Despite their efforts, New Zealand U23 could not mount a significant comeback, and the match ended with a 4-1 victory for the United States U23.
