Swansea City are reportedly in advanced discussions to secure the services of American goalkeeper Tyler Miller on loan from D.C. United. Sources suggest the move hinges on the approval of a work permit, adding a layer of uncertainty to the deal.

Miller, a 31-year-old shot-stopper, boasts a tally of 128 MLS regular season appearances across his career, featuring for clubs such as D.C. United, Minnesota United, Seattle Sounders, and LAFC. Notably, he has made 30 appearances for D.C. United since joining the team, notably dealing with an injury at the beginning of the 2024 season, paving the way for Alex Bono to lead in between the posts.

The potential move holds significance as both Swansea City and D.C. United share common ownership ties. While Swansea City has initiated their 2024-25 season with a win and a loss in the English Championship, having closed out the prior season in the 14th spot.

Conversely, D.C. United has been undergoing a transformation phase spearheaded by new General Manager Ally Mackay and Head Coach Troy Lesesne. The team has witnessed a significant overhaul, with 19 players departing post the previous season. Noteworthy signings for D.C. United include midfielder Boris Enow, defender David Schnegg, and forward Dom Badji.

As per social media reactions, opinions on Tyler Miller's possible move to Swansea vary widely. Some see it as a strategic maneuver that benefits both clubs given their shared ownership, while others express skepticism about Miller's abilities and value to the team. Amidst varying sentiments, the anticipated loan deal could present a new opportunity for the seasoned goalkeeper to showcase his talent in a different league.
