As halftime approached, Liverpool broke the deadlock in the 45th minute, with I. Konate finding the back of the net assisted by Diogo Jota. The visitors took a 1-0 lead. However, Wolves responded quickly in the 56th minute with R. Ait-Nouri equalizing the scoreline, assisted by C. Forbs.

The game continued to be fiercely contested, and in the 61st minute, Liverpool's M. Salah scored a penalty goal, giving his team a 2-1 lead. The match saw more substitutions, with J. Bellegarde replacing C. Forbs for Wolves in the 53rd minute, and C. Gakpo, C. Jones, and J. Gomez coming in for Liverpool in the 73rd and 89th minutes.

Both teams pushed hard for more goals, but the score remained unchanged until the final whistle. Despite a valiant effort from Wolves, Liverpool secured all three points.

With this victory, Liverpool will now focus on their upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Bologna on October 2, 2024. Meanwhile, Wolves will look to bounce back in their next Premier League clash against Brentford on October 5, 2024.
