Nottingham Forest fell short in their match against Fulham, losing 0-1 in a tightly contested game. The match took place at City Ground in Nottingham, England.

The opening minutes of the game saw both teams trying to find their rhythm. Adama Traoré had an early chance for Fulham with a cross that Matz Sels had to tip over the bar. Nottingham Forest's Taiwo Awoniyi also attempted a spectacular shot but missed the target.

The first half lacked clear-cut opportunities, with neither team able to break the deadlock. Emile Smith Rowe of Fulham suffered an injury after making a brave block in the box and getting fouled.

In the 25th minute, Nottingham Forest thought they had taken the lead when Chris Wood's shot crossed the line, but it was ruled offside. Raúl Jiménez had a chance to score for Fulham but was denied by Sels.

The second half started with controversy as Fulham was awarded a penalty in the 47th minute. Andreas Pereira went down after a challenge from Murillo, and the referee confirmed the decision after consulting the VAR. Jiménez stepped up and converted the penalty with a well-placed shot above Sels's arms, giving Fulham the lead in the 51st minute.

The game became more heated, with yellow cards being shown to Ryan Yates of Nottingham Forest and Kenny Tete and Saša Lukić of Fulham. Both teams made substitutions to try and change the game. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Jota Silva came on for Nottingham Forest, while Reiss Nelson and Sander Berge entered the pitch for Fulham.

Nottingham Forest had a penalty appeal in the 64th minute when Calvin Bassey went down, but the VAR ruled no foul. Despite their efforts, Nottingham Forest couldn't find an equalizer.

In the final minutes of the game, Fulham made more substitutions, bringing on Rodrigo Muniz and Harrison Reed. Bernd Leno of Fulham received a yellow card for time-wasting. Nottingham Forest introduced Neco Williams in place of Álex Moreno.

Ultimately, Fulham held on to their 1-0 lead, securing the victory. Raúl Jiménez's penalty proved to be the difference-maker in a scrappy game.

Nottingham Forest's next game will be against Chelsea on October 6, while Fulham will face Manchester City on October 5 in the Premier League.
