Amidst all these responsibilities, Lesesne and his wife, both former College of Charleston players, are searching for a suitable home for their family in the area, as they settle into their new surroundings with their two young daughters.

At just 40 years old, Lesesne brings a wealth of coaching experience to his first permanent gig as head coach of an MLS team. He made a name for himself with the New York Red Bulls, where he stepped in as an interim coach, achieving a commendable 10-9-4 record, including a playoff berth. Notably, he defeated D.C. United three times during that stint.

Having revitalized the Red Bulls and impressed the soccer community, Lesesne finally earned the opportunity to become an MLS head coach. Despite his relative lack of head coaching experience, Lesesne's track record and dedication convinced United's general manager, Ally Mackay, that he was the right person for the job.

Mackay acknowledged that the team's recent performance and lack of playoffs appearances will require a gradual rebuilding process. Lesesne's main focus will be realigning the team's philosophy and creating a winning environment. He aims to lead the team with an aggressive and creative style of play.
