In a stunning turn of events, rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis has earned high praise from Warriors coach Steve Kerr after delivering an impressive second consecutive double-double performance. Jackson-Davis, who was mostly relegated to bench duties a few days ago, has quickly caught the attention of his coach and is being compared to former Warrior Andrew Bogut.

During a post-game interview following the Warriors' dominant 129-118 victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday night, Coach Kerr couldn't hold back his admiration for Jackson-Davis and the impact he has made on the court. Kerr even went so far as to liken the rookie's play to that of Bogut in his prime.

Recalling his earlier years with the team, Kerr reminisced about how they utilized Bogut as a centerpiece of their offense, running plays through him at the top of the key. "He was a master of dribble-handoffs and diving to the rim," Kerr said, clearly impressed. "Trayce is also a very good passer, like Bogues was, but just being able to run those dribble-handoffs and dives. That's the guy that I think of."

Jackson-Davis showcased his skills once again, completing his third consecutive excellent performance by recording a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds. Alongside his scoring prowess, he also contributed three assists and a crucial block during the game, demonstrating his versatility on both ends of the court. Moreover, he finished the game with a plus-10 rating in just 25 minutes of playing time.

Upon learning of his coach's comments, Jackson-Davis expressed both gratitude and understanding. He acknowledged the compliment but also recognized that he has a long way to go to reach the level of a player like Bogut. "He's a little taller than me," Jackson-Davis said, highlighting the physical disparity between him and the former Warrior. "We've got some similar attributes. He was a really, really good passer. Like a brilliant passer. That's something I want to expand on."

Jackson-Davis, who is currently in his rookie season, remains focused on continuous improvement and hard work. "I'm learning. It's my rookie season, so I just want to get better and grind," he added.

This impressive back-to-back double-double has elevated Jackson-Davis into the company of other Rookie of the Year candidates, including Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs, as the only rookies to achieve this feat this season.

While Jackson-Davis doesn't quite match the pedigree of Andrew Bogut, his recent performances and potential for growth make him an exciting player to watch. With his skills on display, the rookie is proving that he has the potential to make a significant impact in the league.
