Coming out of their recent 2-0 victory over Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur is facing potential injury setbacks as they prepare to take on Crystal Palace on Friday. The fitness of Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie has become a major concern for the team, with the latter's availability still uncertain.

During the match against Fulham, both Sarr and Udogie were substituted in the early stages of the second half due to injury concerns. Udogie, who seemed to have sustained a knock to his ankle, was taken off at the 52nd minute, while Sarr left the pitch slowly at the 62nd minute.

Fortunately, there is some positive news for Tottenham as Sarr's condition seems to have improved, and he is expected to be fit and available for the upcoming match against Crystal Palace. However, the situation with Udogie remains uncertain. In a press conference ahead of the game, Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou revealed that Udogie would be assessed before the match, but doubts remain about his level of participation.

Postecoglou stated, "The two main [concerns] from the other night are Pape and Destiny. Pape is fine, he bounced back sort of 24 hours after the game. He had a bit of an illness but has trained well. Destiny we are still going to assess. Obviously, it is a short turnaround from the other night. We'll have a look today, see how things go and make a decision after that. Everyone else has come through fine and is available."

The uncertainty surrounding Udogie's availability is a cause for concern, as he has been a standout player for Tottenham in the early part of the season. His absence could potentially disrupt the team's performance, as seen during the Fulham match when Emerson Royal had to fill in for him, playing out of position on the left.

Postecoglou has various options to consider if Udogie is unable to participate. Ben Davies has previously deputized for Udogie and could be a suitable replacement. Another option could involve using Emerson in his preferred position and shifting Pedro Porro to the left flank. Regardless, Udogie's prognosis and Postecoglou's decision will play a crucial role in determining the team's lineup.

In addition to the injury concerns, Postecoglou was asked about Tottenham's potential title push. The head coach expressed a cautious approach, emphasizing the long season ahead and the need for continuous improvement. He stated, "There is a real good reason no manager will talk about winning a title in October or November because we know there's a long way to go... We need to be fully focused on that, and from my perspective, the lads have been really good at just keeping their eyes firmly on what's next."

When questioned about the possibility of finishing outside the Champions League spots, Postecoglou responded that his main goal is to see the team progress and become a better unit. He believes that the supporters' satisfaction at the end of the season will be a reliable indicator of their success.

Regarding the tight schedule of matches, Postecoglou reassured that the team had planned accordingly and made necessary adjustments in training. He mentioned that the players are physically and mentally prepared for the upcoming game against Crystal Palace.

Tottenham Hotspur is set to face Crystal Palace on Friday at 3:00 p.m. ET / 8:00 p.m. UK. The match will be televised on USA in the United States and Sky Sports in the UK. A victory in this match could potentially extend Tottenham's lead at the top of the Premier League table, at least until the next round of fixtures.
