The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) announced the arrests, revealing chilling details surrounding the case.

Chance Comanche, 27, a player for the Stockton Kings, was apprehended by California FBI agents on Friday and awaits extradition to Nevada on kidnapping charges. Currently held in the Sacramento County Main Jail, Comanche's bail stands at no amount.

Sakari Harnden, 19, the girlfriend of Comanche, was taken into custody two days earlier in Las Vegas and is being held at the Clark County Detention Center, also on kidnapping charges. Harnden's bail has been set at an astonishing $500,000.

It is alleged that both individuals conspired to execute a murder plot against Harnden's friend, Marayna Rodgers, who was reported missing on December 7th in Las Vegas. According to the LVMPD, Rodgers had arranged to meet Harnden on December 5th, accompanied by Comanche. Tragically, Rodgers has not been seen alive since that day.

Further examining the timeline of events, the Stockton Kings played a game in Henderson, Nevada, at The Dollar Loan Center on December 5th, as per their team schedule. However, it is important to note that no direct connection between the game and the alleged crime has been established.

The investigation quickly took a grim turn, with detectives suspecting foul play early on. Gathering evidence, law enforcement moved swiftly to arrest Harnden and Comanche for their involvement in Rodgers' kidnapping and subsequent disappearance. Following their arrests, police were guided to a desert area in Henderson, where they made a gruesome discovery - human remains.

According to the Clark County coroner, the remains have been positively identified as those of Marayna Rodgers. This tragic outcome has led the LVMPD to update the charges against both Harnden and Comanche to include murder.

The exact details regarding the information that led investigators to the desert area and the determination of Harnden and Comanche's responsibility for the crime have not been divulged by the police.

Comanche is expected to appear in Sacramento County court on Tuesday, according to jail records. Harnden's preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 28th, as stated in court records.

As this shocking case proceeds, the basketball community remains stunned by the alleged involvement of a player from the Stockton Kings. The Sacramento Kings organization promptly terminated Comanche's contract following his arrest.

The LVMPD continues to investigate the motives and circumstances surrounding this heinous crime while seeking justice for the tragic loss of Marayna Rodgers.
