Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay will be sidelined for Monday night's game against the Seattle Seahawks, as he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this week, according to coach Nick Sirianni. While no specific timeline was provided for Slay's return, sources have indicated to ESPN's Adam Schefter that the cornerback is expected to be back on the field before the end of the regular season.

Slay's absence will leave a void in the Eagles' defense, as he has been their standout player in an otherwise struggling secondary. The cornerback has recorded two interceptions, including one that he returned for a touchdown, along with 14 pass breakups this season.

Coach Sirianni did not disclose who would fill in for Slay in the lineup, only stating that they have "the right guys in place." Among the top contenders for the role are rookie Kelee Ringo and second-year player Josh Jobe.

The Eagles' pass defense has been a cause for concern, as they currently rank 28th in the league. They have allowed a staggering 29 passing touchdowns, which is the second-highest in the NFL.

The team will have to rely on their depth and make defensive adjustments in Slay's absence to solidify their secondary. The Eagles will look to bounce back and improve their overall defensive performance in hopes of securing a playoff spot in the competitive NFC East.

As the regular season approaches its final stretch, the Eagles will eagerly await the return of Darius Slay, whose presence on the field will be crucial in their push for postseason success.
