In an unexpected turn of events, PGA Tour rookie Adrian Meronk has decided to leave the Tour and join LIV Golf, as reported by Sports Illustrated's Bob Harig. The news, first revealed by The Times of London, comes just days before Meronk was set to make his season debut.

The 30-year-old golfer earned his PGA Tour card by finishing in the top 10 of last year's DP World Tour Eligibility Ranking. Meronk's promising career took a leap forward when he secured a second-place finish at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, ultimately placing him at 39th in the world rankings.

Initially, Meronk was slated to make his first appearance of the season at the Farmers Insurance Open. However, he withdrew from the tournament due to illness, which was attributed to traveling from the Middle East to San Diego, California. The source close to the situation refrained from commenting on Meronk's tour status.

According to reports from both Sports Illustrated and The Times, Meronk will now be a part of Martin Kaymer's Cleeks team, showcasing the talent and potential that has garnered attention from golf enthusiasts and professionals alike. Additionally, there were hints of a potential LIV Golf deal between Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm's team, although no official confirmation has been made yet.

Notably, Hatton has been announced as a participant in the PGA Tour's WM Phoenix Open, which coincides with LIV Golf's second event in Las Vegas, taking place from February 8th to 11th.

Meronk's decision to switch to LIV Golf has raised eyebrows within the golfing community, as his rookie season on the PGA Tour may be ending before it even begins. However, it also signifies the growing appeal and allure of LIV Golf, attracting talented players from various professional circuits.

As Meronk joins forces with Martin Kaymer's Cleeks team, golf enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the upcoming LIV Golf event in Mexico, where they will get a chance to witness the rookie in action on a different platform.
