Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently shared his thoughts on his favorite target Travis Kelce's relationship with pop star Taylor Swift. Despite the added attention surrounding the couple, Mahomes revealed that it has not become a distraction in the Chiefs' locker room.

With Swift attending Chiefs games this season and creating a massive influx of attention, the atmosphere at every Kansas City game has been compared to the excitement of the Super Bowl. However, Mahomes has a different perspective on the matter.

In an interview with ESPN, Mahomes stated, "I don't think it feels any different. People see the whole Taylor Swift and Travis [relationship], and they make it a huge deal because it is a huge deal. I think it becomes a bigger deal to the fan bases than it does to the guys that are actually in the building."

Highlighting the strong bond between himself and Kelce, Mahomes referred to the tight end as his "brother" and emphasized how close their families have become. Furthermore, Mahomes expressed his appreciation for Swift, whom he has had the opportunity to meet personally.

"I've been lucky enough to meet Taylor and see how good of a person she is," Mahomes said. "I think you can understand why it's not become a distraction or anything like that because everybody cares about being the best they can be every day."

Following their bye week, during which Kelce attended Swift's concert in Buenos Aires, the Chiefs are gearing up for a Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. The matchup holds significant importance for Mahomes and the team, providing an opportunity to gauge their progress after the break.

"Playing on Monday night, it's going to be about as close to a Super Bowl-type feel that you can have playing against another great team that we just played in the Super Bowl last year," Mahomes expressed. "We get to see where we're at as an offense, as a defense, and as an entire team. The biggest thing is you get to see how guys respond under the lights. I think that's what gets you ready for playoffs and Super Bowl games."

While there was hope that Swift would attend the game at GEHA Field, her postponed concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the same day as the match has made it uncertain. Nevertheless, Swift's fan base, known as "Swifties," has been drawn to Kelce and the Chiefs, adding to the already passionate Kansas City supporters who are hoping for a victory to improve the team's record to 8-2 this season.
