In an effort to address their recent injuries and fortify their roster depth, the Carolina Panthers took decisive action, making multiple roster moves following their bye week.

The team placed three players on injured reserve, ruling them out for the next four weeks. Among the players sidelined are defensive back Jeremy Chinn (quadriceps), outside linebacker Yetur Gross-Matos (hamstring), and tight end Giovanni Ricci (shoulder). Their absence will undoubtedly be felt on the field, but the Panthers are determined to adapt and overcome.

On a positive note, the Panthers activated Austin Corbett, the right guard, from the physically unable to perform list. Corbett has successfully completed his recovery from a torn ACL suffered in the regular season finale last year. Since the season opener, the team has been rotating starters at both right guard and left guard positions due to injuries. Corbett's return brings stability to the offensive line.

To address the vacancies left by the injured players, the Panthers have agreed to terms with offensive lineman Brett Toth from the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad and outside linebacker Luiji Vilain from the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad, bringing them onto the 53-man roster.

Brett Toth, a 27-year-old native of Charleston, South Carolina, and a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, has spent parts of the last four seasons with the Eagles. With 17 games under his belt and one start in his career, Toth also had a brief stint with the Arizona Cardinals.

Luiji Vilain, 25, is a product of both Michigan and Wake Forest universities. After going undrafted, Vilain joined the Vikings as a rookie last year. Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, he was a third-round pick in the 2021 CFL draft. Vilain saw action in three games for the Vikings last season and brings his athleticism and skills to the Panthers' defense.

In addition to these moves, the Panthers decided to release veteran offensive lineman Justin McCray from the practice squad, thus creating space for the new additions.

The Panthers remain focused on navigating their roster changes and overcoming the setbacks brought on by injuries. With the activation of Austin Corbett and the acquisition of Brett Toth and Luiji Vilain, the team is bolstering their ranks in preparation for the challenging weeks ahead.

As they regroup and prepare to face their upcoming opponents, the Panthers are determined to move forward with strength, resilience, and the new additions to their roster.
