In a shocking turn of events, Chance Comanche, a player with the Stockton Kings, the NBA's Sacramento Kings affiliate in the G League, was arrested on Friday afternoon by FBI agents in connection with the disappearance of 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers in Las Vegas. Comanche, 27, has been booked on charges of first-degree kidnapping and is currently held in Sacramento County Jail.

According to jail records, Comanche's arrest took place shortly before his release from the Kings. The team, along with the NBA, has remained tight-lipped on the matter, declining to comment when approached by Fox News Digital.

The young woman at the center of this case, Marayna Rodgers, was a medical assistant from Washington, who vanished on December 6 during her visit to Las Vegas to meet with friends. Based on investigations by 8 News Now, it was discovered that Rodgers had entered a car with 19-year-old Sakari Harnden, who is also facing a first-degree kidnapping charge. Harnden is currently detained in a Las Vegas jail with bail set at $500,000.

Comanche had played a G League game against the G League Ignite in Henderson, Nevada, on December 5, the night preceding Rodgers' disappearance. The distance between Henderson and Las Vegas is approximately 15 miles, and it remains unclear how long Comanche stayed in the city.

It is alleged that Harnden held Rodgers against her will and without her consent for the purpose of causing harm and potentially intending to kill her, according to a criminal complaint. Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Diana Sullivan, who set Harnden's bail, has requested immediate notification if Rodgers is found alive.

In an unrelated case, Harnden also faces a theft charge, accused of stealing at least one Rolex watch, according to investigators.

The sudden disappearance of Rodgers shocked her loved ones, who emphasized that it was completely out of character for her to abandon her family and her cherished dogs during her trip to Las Vegas.

As for Comanche's basketball career, the 6-foot-10 center, who went undrafted from the University of Arizona, has made a single appearance in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2022-23 season. Over the past two seasons, he has played 24 games for the Stockton Kings, including 13 this year, with an average of 14 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game.

The investigation into Marayna Rodgers' disappearance continues, as authorities work to uncover the truth behind this troubling case.
