In a pivotal AFC East matchup, the Miami Dolphins marched to a convincing 34-13 victory over the New York Jets, extending their record to 8-3 and solidifying their position as the division leaders. The Dolphins' triumph came in the NFL's first-ever Black Friday game and showcased their resilience and determination on a short week.

Despite the success on the field, injuries plagued the Dolphins throughout the game. Edge rusher Jaelan Phillips suffered a devastating Achilles injury, which is likely to sideline him for the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, Pro Bowl left tackle Terron Armstead had to leave the game with a quadriceps injury, but expressed optimism about his recovery. Safety Jevon Holland, celebrated for his game-changing 99-yard interception return touchdown, also exited the game due to a knee injury.

Despite these setbacks, the Dolphins admirably pressed on and delivered an impressive performance. Running back Raheem Mostert spearheaded the ground attack, amassing 94 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Miami's rushing game, which managed 167 yards overall, proved to be a pivotal asset in controlling the time of possession, with the Dolphins holding the ball for an impressive 35 minutes and 41 seconds.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa enjoyed a mostly solid outing, completing 21 of 30 passes for 243 yards and one touchdown. However, he did throw two interceptions, one of which resulted in a pick-6. With 10 interceptions this season, Tagovailoa has surpassed his previous year's total by two. Nonetheless, his connection with wide receivers Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill was on full display, as they combined for over 200 receiving yards and a touchdown.

On the defensive side, the Dolphins showcased their dominance, stifling any attempted threats from the Jets. New York managed just 29 rushing yards, with running back Breece Hall's single 11-yard carry representing their lone standout moment on the ground. The Dolphins' defensive front seven, led by linebacker Jerome Baker and safety Jevon Holland, wreaked havoc on the Jets' offense, accumulating seven sacks and consistently pressuring Jets quarterback Tim Boyle.

Highlighting the defensive brilliance, Holland's 99-yard interception return touchdown just before halftime left fans in awe. Coupled with the relentless pass rush, Boyle struggled throughout the game, completing 27 of 38 passes for 179 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

Despite the injuries, the Miami Dolphins showcased their depth and resilience in their commanding victory over the New York Jets. As they bask in the glory of this dominant performance, their attention now turns to the recovery and long-term outlook of their injured players, an aspect that will have a significant impact on their playoff aspirations.
