In a recent development, it has been reported by NBC News that Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has undergone surgery to repair a torn ACL. The injury was a result of an incident during his mixed-martial arts (MMA) training, as stated by CNBC.

Zuckerberg took to Instagram on Friday to announce his injury, mentioning that he had torn his ACL while sparring and had just undergone surgery to replace it. He further expressed his disappointment, stating that this setback has delayed his plans to compete in a competitive MMA fight early next year. However, he remains optimistic and is looking forward to returning to the ring once he has recovered fully.

Various photos shared by Zuckerberg on Instagram depicted him at an undisclosed hospital, capturing moments before the surgery and after the procedure, with his supportive wife, Priscilla Chan, by his side during his recovery, as reported by CNBC.

It seems that Zuckerberg's interest in MMA and competitive fighting has grown over time. The Facebook co-founder has been actively training in different martial arts, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In fact, back in May, he participated in his first jiu-jitsu tournament, where he managed to achieve both a gold and silver medal, as per his Facebook post.

Interestingly, this recent ACL injury occurred following a brief exchange between Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla. The two had jokingly discussed the possibility of a cage match. However, the fight never materialized, and Zuckerberg stated during the summer via a post on Threads that it was time to move on from the idea, acknowledging that Musk was not serious about it. He mentioned that if Musk ever became serious and agreed to an official event, he would be open to it.

Despite the potential for a showdown between the tech moguls, Zuckerberg clarified that he intended to focus on competing with individuals who take the sport seriously, emphasizing his dedication to MMA and his commitment to pushing his limits in the future.

Zuckerberg's recent surgery and the subsequent recovery period will undoubtedly impact his participation in future MMA events. However, with his determination and passion for the sport, it is likely that he will make a strong comeback once he has fully healed.

Stay tuned for updates on Mark Zuckerberg's progress as he navigates his recovery journey and prepares to re-enter the world of competitive MMA.
