LSU's football team is set to make their third trip to Florida in just 13 months, as they prepare to take on the Wisconsin Badgers in the ReliaQuest Bowl. The game is scheduled to take place on January 1st in Tampa, Florida, according to sources from The Advocate.

The No. 13 Tigers have not participated in the ReliaQuest Bowl, formerly known as the Outback Bowl, since their victory over Iowa in the 2013 season. LSU emerged victorious with a score of 21-14 in a hard-fought battle that took place on January 1st, 2014.

With a record of 9-3, LSU enters the ReliaQuest Bowl after winning six out of their last seven regular-season games. The team is now aiming to achieve back-to-back seasons with 10 or more wins, a feat that they hope to accomplish under the guidance of their second-year head coach, Brian Kelly.

The Tigers' losses during the regular season came at the hands of tough opponents. Florida State, the eventual Atlantic Coast Conference champion, dealt LSU one of their defeats. They also faced tough challenges from Alabama, the Southeastern Conference champion, as well as Ole Miss, who finished the season with an impressive 10-2 record and qualified for the Peach Bowl.

There was initial speculation that LSU might face off against Notre Dame, where coach Brian Kelly previously held a 12-year tenure. However, due to changes in bowl match-ups during conference championship weekend, that possibility did not materialize.

On the other side of the field, the Wisconsin Badgers, led by first-year coach Luke Fickell, hold a record of 7-5 overall and a conference record of 5-4 in the Big Ten. The Badgers will be looking to put up a strong performance against LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
