Former Roma manager Jose Mourinho is exploring his options after being sacked by the club on Tuesday. The decision came as a result of Roma's poor performance, which left them in ninth place in the Serie A standings. Mourinho's contract with the team was set to expire in the summer, and he expressed his desire to continue his tenure at the club.

Sources have revealed that Mourinho currently does not have any specific plans lined up, as the decision to part ways with Roma was primarily initiated by the club. Nevertheless, the Portuguese manager is likely to attract offers from various clubs.

Recent reports have linked Mourinho with a potential return to the Premier League, particularly with his former club Chelsea or Newcastle United. However, it is understood that any immediate moves to these clubs would be unexpected, and nothing is confirmed at this stage.

Chelsea's ownership is reportedly keen to exhibit patience with their current head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, despite a lackluster start to the season. The club intends to evaluate Pochettino in the summer, offering him ample time to turn things around. Similarly, Newcastle United is looking to support their under-pressure boss, Eddie Howe, who has faced challenges due to a long list of injuries.

Mourinho himself had expressed interest in managing in Saudi Arabia in the past. Sources indicate that he could be offered a contract by a Saudi Pro League club if he remains without a job by the summer. Although Al Hilal had previously made a substantial offer of £30 million per year to Mourinho, they are currently performing well and are unlikely to seek a managerial change in the near future. However, Al Ahli and Al Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, may still consider Mourinho for managerial positions.

International management could also be an avenue for Mourinho. With several vacancies expected to arise after Euro 2024 and the Copa America, opportunities may arise for him to take charge of a national team. It is reported that Mourinho is open to the possibility of managing the England national team should Gareth Southgate depart after the Euros. However, Southgate has expressed his desire to continue in his position.

As Mourinho evaluates his next move, the football world awaits with anticipation to see where the esteemed manager will find his next challenge.
