The New York Jets, in their quest to revive their struggling offense, are considering yet another quarterback change for Week 14 as their playoff hopes continue to fade. After benching Zach Wilson and experimenting with Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian, the Jets are now reportedly leaning towards reinstating Wilson as the starter. However, according to a report from The Athletic, Wilson is showing reluctance to step back onto the field due to concerns about potential injury risks.

The situation has attracted attention from Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who recently reached out to Wilson to offer guidance and support. Rodgers vehemently defended the 22-year-old, expressing his love for him during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. He strongly criticized any anonymous sources purporting to question Wilson's dedication to the team.

Rodgers expressed his frustration with the use of such sources, which he believes seek to tarnish Wilson's character and imply that he is quitting on the team. He called for a thorough investigation into the origins of these reports to ensure they do not persist.

Acknowledging that he does not want to speak on Wilson's behalf, Rodgers emphasized the importance of allowing Wilson to address the situation himself, given the challenges he has faced throughout his career. He commended Wilson for taking accountability and standing up under difficult circumstances.

Head coach Robert Saleh also came to Wilson's defense, asserting that the young quarterback's hesitation to play has been misconstrued. Saleh noted that Wilson's presence on the team demonstrates his willingness to compete and his belief that he is the best quarterback for the Jets. However, Saleh did not confirm Wilson as the Week 14 starter, stating that a decision has yet to be made.

During a press conference, Saleh reassured reporters that Wilson wants the ball and remains committed to leading the team to victory. He revealed that he recently had a productive conversation with Wilson, appreciating his desire to play but cautioning that the final decision has not been reached.

As the Jets evaluate their options for Week 14's matchup against the Houston Texans, all eyes will be on the quarterback situation. Whether Wilson ultimately overcomes his reluctance and returns as the starter or another change is made, the Jets are hoping to find stability at the position and reignite their season after a string of disappointing losses.
